New: (car) Key Holder

Hello, how's everyone?
I've been spending the last two weeks doing trial and error for some new products here for Paperpleased.

The first one that i am so excited to share with you is the... (car) key holder!

The idea was suggested by one of the visitors at Clicksmarket at FX which i participated (thanks to ika) few weeks ago. Somehow it never occurred to me that people still use this type of key holder (maybe males are more into it?) since the ones that are available on the market today are rather bland and monotone in terms of their looks.

Anyway, I'm particularly excited with the idea of using metal element with paper as i've never tried it before. It's a new territory for me. So, after purchasing some of hardware accessories i started drawing, cutting folding, and sewing until i'm finally happy with it.

I definitely underestimated making this item, because it took me 6 try-outs to get it right. I've also learned that simple design works better, since the more folding & sewing it involves, the weaker the paper gets.

Hence, to make the key holder stronger and sturdier, I layer the main body and the middle part (where the hardware is attached) with "krungkut" board. Finally to give room to keep your extra tidbits, i incorporate the same type of pocket as the ones used in accordion wallet.

kunci sukses (trans tv)

Two weeks ago, i received an email asking if i'd like to be featured in the Kunci Sukses show on Trans TV.

Apparently the one-month-old show covers small-to-medium unique and independent businesses which are based in and around Jakarta. Of course i said yes immediately and about a week later, shooting takes place at my home where i also work.

Now, the show is a bit of a comedy which required me to act *yikes*. It also comes with a plot where i was "supposedly" having a problem in running my business. They, then, would meet me up with someone who comes from a similar background to mine and offer an idea/ solution. After brainstorming with the director, we decided to use my new product (coming up after this post) as the object of interest.

The show will air in July, in the mean time i thought i would post some of behind-the-scene pics taken two days ago.

New: Accordion Wallet

It took me a while to figure out the design for this type of wallet.

After it was done, i had that "why didn't i think of this sooner?" thought.
It certainly didn't appear this simple in my mind at first, but with some trial-and-error it somehow worked out in the end.

I'm especially satisfied with the use of magnetic snap buttons, which work and look way better than anything i've tried before.

The accordion wallet consists of 3 divided sections, 6 card slots and 1 long pocket. It fits your cash, mobile phone and some small necessities. Similar usage like a small clutch.

money envelope

Yesterday, my cousin Widya requested me to make her a money envelope.

She dislikes the usual ang bao when giving her in-laws some money as a gift because they're way too small.

I've seen a simple money envelope before that allows you to put as much money as you want because it resembles an envelope (hence the name).

So here, i made a dozen of it using red wallpaper (requested by her, as a symbol of luck) and layered them with fusible web on the inside for a better finish and make them tear-proof.

Email me if you're interested in purchasing them :)
