Hi, just to do it properly, there had been some changes here at Paperpleased:

1. All questions related to purchasing will be done via paperpleased's facebook. 

Blackberry groups no longer exist and the blog will be used as a more-personal platform to share things that i love. i hope i can post more often, even if they are shorter.

2. Pricelist had been updated.

the decorator in me

Being a new house owner (two years and counting...) definitely led me to a decorating frenzy. The satisfaction comes mostly from finding things that don't break the bank but give the most impact. 

Some of my new favorite buys...

1. A4-frames, that i use to display a collection of old money and stamps, as well as some quirky illustration cut-outs from magazines.

 2.  Tin cans for storing stationeries

3. Fold-able shoe-rack that saves much more space by allowing each pair to be put on top of each other.

4. Trays for grouping of things and hence give a neater look to the tables. I have wooden, rattan, aluminium, and now, steel.

craft studio

This is probably one of those dream-comes-true moments for me. 

Been toying with the idea of having my own craft studio for months, but somehow i never gave it enough time to sink-in, thus it just sat happily in the corner, occasionally nudging to remind me that she's still there. 

Well, after many nights of browsing pinterest and reading "Studios" careful thinking, i decided to give it a go. 

We have this room we called "office", with a couch and a TV rack inside (yes, that kind of "office") that were rarely used. It would be the perfect space for a craft studio, thanks to its natural light.

It doesn't take a genius to realize how much neater the house would be if there was a proper room for all my sh*t, really. My stuff is filling up quickly, it reached a point where the moment we stepped into the house, you can see piles of papers hung on the shoe rack. 

My husband, being the wonderful guy that he is, had been coping with it very well and occasionally joked how the whole house has turned into a factory/ sweatshop since i started Paperpleased.

But that's about to change...

Two weeks after discussion with my step-dad (the architect / go-to guy for all my house woes), the furniture was installed and I was ecstatic with the result.

I have so much room now, that after storing all my stuff i still have space on the what-feels-like the never-ending shelves. I could tell that my assistants were happy working in the new studio too. Not to mention my husband.

I'm still waiting for the peg wall to be installed (when it does, will post another pic), but at the moment, let me just share some pictures of the newly-renovated "paperpleased" studio.
  
Now, i'm currently on the look-out for some pretty baskets and storage to decorate it. Looks like this will be a long and enjoyable process...

vena's bouquet

Four months ago, my friend, Vena, asked me to make a paper flower bouquet for her wedding in February. 

She will be having THREE wedding parties (Jakarta, Malang and Sydney) and wanted the bouquet to be the same one in all the three parties.

I'd be lying if i said i was confident about her request. 

I've never made a single paper flower before, but i was touched with how much she trusted me of being able to make it. Google led me to some favorite tutorials and over time i ended up having fun making different types of flowers (as you can see here). The most time-consuming part would be making the petals, since each petal is individually shaped and pleated before being attached to the stem.

 

For Vena, she specifically requested for peonies. Pink peonies. 

For the bride's bouquet, bridesmaids' corsages and the groom's boutonniere. 

When she picked up her flowers today, i was relieved to find out that she and her mum were exceptionally pleased. They both LOVE the flowers. She also text-ed me saying she didn't want to take them off of her hands and her mum wore the corsage straightaway in the car after leaving my place.

Can't wait to see you on your D-day and have a blessed and wonderful married life ahead in Sydney!  :')

Special Hellofest edition

I found a book of vintage kid's wallpapers among my collection and i think their looks goes very well with the Hellofest event that i'm participating this Saturday. 

Featuring old-school illustrations and patterns on the borders which i top-stitched onto the covers of some of the wallets. Just so charming!
