making: tote bag & cd holder

In anticipation of attending PPKI2011 (last weekend), I made these two items in a bit of a rush.

First one up is... tote bag!

I had been wanting to make one of these for months now, and i finally found the best-possible way to do it. I had it combined with tyvek for the inside, so that its strong, tear-proof and water-proof. While for its appearance, i did the honeycomb-pattern applique and used some yummy leather for the handles. I just love the color combo of this bag.
It's still far from perfect, obviously, but i'm looking for better ways to improve it.

Second one is... (Car) CD holder!

The idea was suggested by Mba Titut, one of the producers of the Kunci Sukses show, whom i had met during shooting. The pattern is quite straight-forward, so i didn't have any difficulties whatsoever. Any feedbacks are very much welcome still...

one sunday flea market & PPKI 2011

I've been having some very productive weekends here.
Two weeks ago, i participated in One Sunday Flea Market at Kemang, South Jakarta, along with ika and mei suling. Even though the market was not as crowded as i had anticipated, i was quite happy to meet many interesting people and buying myself some clothes and shoes.

The event had a good vibe (despite the limited parking space) and it was quite successful for a first-timer. I was told, they were planning to held it monthly, so do check out their next event.

The following weekend, i was invited by Fashionese Daily to attend "Business Connect" of Pekan Produk Kreatif Indonesia (PPKI) 2011 at JCC.

The purpose of the event is "business matchmaking" between the new business owners and potential investors. Each participant also got to present their business background & plan in front of a team of panelists, who then would ask questions and give their business insights about it.

Now, i didn't take any pictures (can u believe it?) but i did get some very positive response from the people i met there about Paperpleased. It totally made my day :)

New: Document Holder

My cousin is back with a request of some pretty folders to keep her important documents (yes, she was the one who requested the money envelopes too) :)

With some colorful papers in hand, i started right away.
I made what looks like two folders combined in one since any of us could always more space to keep the papers together. Completed with the paper-button-and-string closure, i hope she likes them.

Size: 35cm x 24cm (closed).

Vol. 7: Hoops (Part 1)

Bizzare hour to be blogging (1: 24am if you're wondering), but i just cant wait to upload the latest wallets i had made last week.

The colours are muted with beautiful leaves pattern, and this time i'm using snap buttons (1cm diameter) which seems to be the perfect match for the wallets.
I  guess i'll be using these buttons for all the wallets from now on. Not only practical, they also give the wallets a polished look and makes the most enjoyable click-sound when one side meets the other! Yay!
